Traverse City: Smallmouth fishing was great in shallow waters of the East Bay. Fish were caught south of Old Mission, from M-37 to the State Park and from Acme to Yuba. A couple cisco were caught around Deepwater Point in 50 feet or less. On the Elk River, bass fishing was good at times using swim baits, crawlers and leeches at the dam and off the rocks. Wow! The lake trout fishing has been fantastic!! The water is starting to get warmer and we are getting a thermo cline for the trout! The last 2 weeks we have limited on every trip but 2. I see the fishing staying the same for the next 2 weeks or so. We still are not seeing any Salmon yet in East Grand traverse bay:(. Well, the lake trout fishing tournament was a great success. We took 2nd out of 23 boats, we got edged out by .45lbs, by the boat that took 2nd last year. We just did a flip flop! Congrats to Captain Brian. We weighed in 4 lake trout and one beautiful steel head, but fell just short. Fishing is still great for lake trout and will before the next couple of weeks! Lake trout fishing is on fire right now in east grand traverse bay in Traverse city, Michigan! We fished today in some thick fog but was able to get a 4 man limit on lake trout! The fishing has been good in 75 to 100 feet of water. The fish have been stuffed with large Alwives and gobies. Tomorrow we have our lake trout tournament in Grand Traverse bay… So we will keep you informed on how things go.. until next time, Tight lines, Capt. Adam.

The fishing is crazy right now. Limit catches are expected as the fishing continues to get better.

Even though the water in East Grand Traverse bay is cold averaging about 54 degrees, we are consistently catching fish. Down riggers are in over 80ft of water on the bottom for lake trout. Also, a few king salmon on 10 colors. Come on down and lets get ’em.
